I think it could be interesting to speak about Investment Trusts (ITs), an UK closed-end fund type (closed-ended investment company) to have more dynamism about the ITs in this community.
For example, talking about the good ITs, the bargains (ITs trading a discount for short-term investing), specialized ITs (that invest in alternative or unusual assets not found in other funds types).
The ITs sector also includes Venture Capital Funds (VCTs) and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

Thank you for this thread on Investment Trusts, it’s been incredibly useful. I’m currently choosing my ideal financial strategy through trial and error and this thread helped me cut some deadends. For a long period of time I tried to sort out my finances on my own but it was a mess. Ok, lesson learned, now I’m using financial planning physicians like me can understand better how to protect and increase their income. Yes, being a part-time investor isn’t a piece of cake but so far it has been quite promising with a few very lucrative MNTC I picked up here.
